Modest charm of the bourgeoisie in the works of John Frederick Lloyd Strevens

Modest charm of the bourgeoisie in the works of John Frederick Lloyd Strevens

You are always and everywhere strange
You fascinate
I love your look misty
I love your reproaches
Your voice sounds like a rush
That is mocking and sonorous
That magic overflow
Like a child's laughter child
And when you lower your eyes
The closeness of the heart to the heart
I'm ready in the darkness of the night
Die from a kiss.

Vladimir Volegov: art comes from childhood

Creativity in the life of Vladimir Volegov began with the innovation in the design of covers for records produced by the monopoly of Soviet times - the company "Melody". Before Volegova over the models, no one particularly zealous: the drawing was simple, and, as a rule, had nothing in common with the album and its performer. Volegov began to create covers, which were independent works, the ideological content of which further emphasized the merits of the music album. At the same time, the artist did not limit himself in the choice of style or material. I used surrealism and classics, watercolor and gouache. Very quickly, Alla Pugacheva, Valery Leontiev, Alexander Malinin, Philip Kirkorov and the group "Lube" became Vladimir's customers. All the leading figures of the Soviet stage turned to the master, and the friendship that was born as a result of cooperation remained forever.

Then began a long journey through the years of change - not for nothing did the Chinese consider life to be a curse in such an era. Volegov became one of the few who managed to pass this difficult road to success and recognition.
One of the properties of modern art, however, like any other, is the ability to convey feelings. It can open the "doors" to our souls, allows us to imbue with something pure and real. That is why the images of women and children - the main theme in the paintings of the artist Vladimir Volegov. Because the artist himself expresses his feelings through those words and concepts that are close to his soul. And in her there will always be images of people close to us and dear to us. A woman and a child are the first concepts in the life of each person. They come from childhood, and yet we all came from this world.

Scott Scheidly: what did the artist say?

This American artist paints a long time ago. Most of all he gravitates toward creating images in the spirit of the animated part of the old and immortal clip of Floyd's "Wall". His drawings are dominated by fungi-hunters for insects and skulls in a cheerful way of life. Why Scott came to the head to portray the three most mass murderers on earth, and even add to this gallery of portraits of the Pope, you can only guess.

And portraits are far from simple. Mao, for example, pierced his ear, and wears an earring - a pebble. He also put on his spectacles-hearts and smiles very cute. In principle, looking at any Mongoloid face begins to seem that his carrier is always happy with something. But Mao really grinds his teeth on a specific issue.

Stalin, despite his true face, looks like a true Generalissimo. In principle, he literally copied from the replicated portrait. That's only the source was not hanging in the ear earrings.

Hitler looks manly. Perhaps, such an image was a success only in this collection, and it never worked with image-makers of Adolf and his photographers. It is especially strange to observe this result, given the glamorous lilac-pink colors that the artist has chosen for his portrait, and for everyone else.

What in this company makes the actual Pope difficult to understand. This is a hint of his bloody past in the division "Hitler Youth"? But no matter how many victims were on his conscience, to any of the three it is immeasurably far away, because the tyrants did not count even on dozens. On the other hand, they never aspired to the righteous of the highest authority.

Thomas Leung on the life force in art

The life mission of Thomas Leung was predestined from birth. He looked fascinated at the white canvas, from which bright colors emerged from under the brush that his father held in his hands. This feeling is left forever: the picture now appears to him hidden in the white silence of the canvas.

Talent gifted artist showed himself in childhood. Already at school, Thomas Leung received his first artistic awards at the drawing contests. It was at this stage that his father believed in the young talent, since then he took his own son as a pupil, and he never had a better criticism and will never be. His first "adult" works were exhibited in the galleries of Hong Kong next to his father's.

Own style, which is so important to the artist, showed himself in the College of Arts. His birth was contributed by endless experiments with colors, shades and their combinations. The methods and methods by which the artist learned to express his own ideas were of no small importance. Recognition did not have to wait very long: numerous awards filled his life, and grants were always enough to devote all his time, without exception, to creating colorful masterpieces. On his canvases, magical extravaganza and quiet landscapes alternate, the pastels and fuchsia perfectly adjoin. It is amazing combinations that bring to his paintings an extraordinary vital force, so necessary for people every day - both in contemporary art and in everyday life.
